Description Yokohama Bluearth AE50 205/55 R16 91V

The Yokohama Bluearth AE50 summer tire was recently introduced by the Japanese manufacturer, but this did not prevent it from becoming popular almost immediately, and all over the world. Belonging to the line of "energy-efficient" models, it differs in an increased service life and increased fuel efficiency. At the same time, these operational properties are ensured without compromising manageability and traction, which is due to the use of the latest technologies and materials.

Nano Blend Technology

When developing this tire, various technical solutions that have already been tested on previous models of the Japanese company were widely used. One of them is the Nano Blend technology. In this model, it has received further development. In particular, the silica content has been increased, which makes up more than half of the compound's composition. This made it possible to significantly improve the traction properties on wet roads. The increase in silica content was made possible by the use of special polymeric compounds that ensure the strength of intermolecular bonds between all components of the rubber mixture. Another of them is orange oil, which further improves the strength of the compound when stretched.

Excellent Balance

This model is favorably distinguished by the balance of operational properties. It is ensured by several technical solutions. One of them is a two-layer tread. Its lower base layer is made of a rigid compound that reduces rolling resistance and improves handling. In turn, the outer side of the tread is characterized by increased elasticity, which improves traction on wet roads, gives smoothness to the ride, and reduces noise levels.

The shoulder areas of the tread are characterized by an increased thickness of the compound. Along with their design, this also reduces rolling resistance and improves traction when maneuvering.

Main Features of the Yokohama Bluearth AE50 Model

- A compound with increased silica content, special polymers, and orange oil improves traction on wet roads, ensures durability and integrity of the tread during high-speed driving;
- A two-layer tread reduces fuel consumption, provides a smooth and quiet ride;
- The increased thickness of the tread in the shoulder areas and the optimized profile shape give the car's behavior reliability and predictability in any conditions.

Technologies

Tread grooves

Large and small "lightning-shaped" grooves are used. YOKOHAMA has increased the volume of the grooves while also increasing the stiffness of the block to provide safe and quiet driving on rainy days.

Quiet for a more comfortable ride

Innovative "variable pitch" provides a stably quiet ride.

Continuing to provide noise reduction through pitch variation, BluEarth-A tires suppress uneven wear and maintain quietness as they wear by minimizing pitch variation. The new BluEarth-A tires also boast enhanced quietness due to an increased number of pitches to 84.

Special compound

The special compound of BluEarth-A AE-50 provides exceptional maneuverability.

YOKOHAMA applies technologies and manufacturing methods to achieve the best balance of fuel efficiency, wet grip, and durability.

The use of dual silica improves wet traction.

Aerodynamic Technology

The tread pattern in the shoulder area reduces air resistance in the tire. This contributes to more economical fuel consumption.

Asymmetric design

The inside of the tire has slits in the shoulder area to prevent uneven wear.

The outside of the tire has wide impermeable grooves on the shoulder block to provide increased stability when cornering.
