The summer tire Yokohama Advan Sport V105E is a special version of the same model for passenger cars. It has a modified design that adapts the tire to the design features and characteristics of some Mercedes-Benz models. Reliability on wet pavement
This model is one of the flagships in the line of sports passenger tires. It uses almost all advanced technologies, a significant part of which provides reliable traction on wet pavement. First of all, this is the Sport Compound 5S rubber compound. In addition to fine silica particles, it contains oil from orange peel. This component has increased the proportion of "silica", strengthening the intermolecular bonds between all components of the rubber compound. As a result, it has high elasticity on cold and wet surfaces and, at the same time, strength at break and stretch, which helps the tread to maintain its integrity when driving at high speeds.
Another factor that ensures confident behavior on wet pavement is the design of the tread pattern. One of its features is the increased width of the longitudinal grooves. The large volume of these elements significantly reduces the risk of aquaplaning, especially at high speeds.
"Matrix" sidewall cord
The tire is characterized by sport-tuned handling with quick reactions to the driver's actions. A significant part of this is achieved due to the special design of the sidewalls. They contain a special mesh cord. It not only increases the stiffness in this part of the tire but also provides programmable deformation of the sidewalls, which bend in such a way as to maintain a balance between softness, acoustic comfort, handling, and traction without reducing any of these properties.
Acoustic comfort
In addition to the original sidewall design, a high level of acoustic comfort is ensured by optimizing the tread pattern. Its asymmetrical design features a row arrangement of elements with a multi-step offset relative to each other. This solution allows, without reducing other operational characteristics, to increase acoustic comfort, reducing the likelihood of resonance noise and vibrations.
