The Yokohama A349G summer tire was created with consideration of the technical characteristics and features of modern passenger cars. As a result, the Japanese tire makers have created a product that combines the ability to withstand long-distance driving at high speeds and provides a very high level of comfort. A practically ideal balance between such different operational properties was achieved thanks to the use of a number of modern technologies that reinforce and complement each other.
Two wide ribs in the center of the tread
The combination of excellent handling and high comfort is largely ensured by the center of the tread. It contains two very wide ribs, each of which, in addition to its massive size, has a composite structure. Such a design gives the coupling at high speed reliability and stability, and on the other hand, improves resistance to aquaplaning, acoustic comfort, and the efficiency of the tread when accelerating.
Rigid blocks in the shoulder areas
Good directional stability remains in this tire even when cornering. The design of the shoulder areas of the tread is responsible for this. They contain a multitude of transverse blocks that, due to their massive size and arrangement, have excellent transverse stiffness. In combination with the multi-radius profile of this part of the tread, this solution allows improving maneuverability and reducing the braking distance.
