Description Yokohama A10F
The summer tire Yokohama A10F, although not a newcomer, favorably distinguishes itself from most of its direct competitors, surpassing them in a number of technical characteristics, from traction on wet roads to fuel efficiency. This is due to the use by the Japanese manufacturer in its design of a number of technologies previously tested by it in car racing.
Adaptability to high-speed driving
Since this model was initially developed for the operating conditions of the most powerful modifications of modern passenger cars, it is not surprising that when creating it, the main attention of Japanese tire makers was paid to adapting its design to the increased load of high speed. Most of the innovations affected the carcass. It is distinguished by its low weight and significant resistance to deformation. This was achieved due to the use of synthetic materials in its design, which possess lightness and increased mechanical strength. In addition, the use of modern cord winding technologies has made it possible not only to increase the carrying capacity of the tire but also the degree of its heating during high-speed driving.
In addition, the tread does not overheat excessively, thanks to the physicochemical properties of the rubber compound. Its composition includes a number of components that not only reduce the temperature but also ensure its integrity, increasing the strength of the rupture.
Increased resistance to aquaplaning
A significant part of the tread pattern of this tire is occupied by drainage grooves. The most impressive internal volume is distinguished by those that are located longitudinally. They serve as a kind of accumulator for water, which is removed from the contact patch through a multitude of diagonal grooves. For the sake of maximum throughput, they are not only located at a sharp angle but also have a wavy shape.
Main features of the Yokohama A10F tire
- a strong, but at the same time very light carcass made of synthetic materials, reduces the heating of the tire at high speed, provides sporty handling and excellent directional stability;
- an optimized composition of the rubber compound, which ensures the integrity of the tread when driving at high speed;
- a significant internal volume and the location of most of the drainage grooves at an angle and against the direction of movement, in combination with their wavy shape, prevents the occurrence of aquaplaning.
