Description Yokohama A10B
The Yokohama A10B summer tire was specifically designed for the most high-speed versions of modern passenger cars. The wide size range of this model provides excellent applicability. At the same time, regardless of the size, this tire is characterized by high technical characteristics, as well as a balanced balance of operational properties. This was made possible by the use of extremely effective technological solutions in its design, which often complement and enhance each other's action.
Two solid ribs in the center
This tire is perfectly adapted for prolonged movement at high speed. To a large extent, this ability is due to the rigid design of the two tread ribs, located exactly in the middle. These elements are distinguished by exceptional resistance to continuous deformation caused by centrifugal forces. When driving at high speed, this feature manifests itself in the form of very stable traction properties, as well as fast and extremely accurate reactions to the driver's actions. Additionally, such a center tread design significantly reduces rolling resistance and optimizes the distribution of load across all elements of the tire's design.
Excellent protection against aquaplaning
The presence of a large number of individual elements provides another advantage of the tread design. We are talking about the efficiency of its drainage system. It contains a large number of grooves. The most capacious of them are located longitudinally between the tread ribs. Water entering them is discharged outside the tread through numerous transverse drainage grooves. The combination of such features allows the tire to demonstrate excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
Open design of the shoulder zones
The tread pattern of this model is divided into several functional areas, each of which provides certain operational properties. One of them is the shoulder zones, which are characterized by an open design with a large number of transverse blocks. In combination with their massive sizes, this allows them to give the tire a significant part of its numerous advantages. The main ones are increased traction properties when maneuvering and braking.
Main features of the Yokohama A10B tire
- excellent performance at high speed due to the very rigid design of the two tread ribs in the center;
- high traction characteristics on slippery surfaces due to the block design of most of the tread pattern;
- resistance to aquaplaning even at high speed due to a drainage system with grooves of increased volume;
- reliable and confident behavior during any maneuvers and braking is provided by transverse shoulder blocks.
