The Westlake CR856 cargo tire was specially designed for light and medium-duty trucks, as well as buses, operated mainly in urban conditions. Unlike most other tire products of similar purpose, this model has a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern with a minimal number of individual elements. In addition, the reduction in the number of individual tread elements allowed Chinese tire manufacturers to make them as large as possible. In addition to the increased contact patch size, this design feature gave them increased resistance to dynamic deformation, which in turn led to improved directional stability.
