The Japanese manufacturer characterizes the Toyo Proxes R39 summer tire as a model that allows you to enjoy excellent handling and traction without causing significant harm to the environment. The tire is fuel-efficient, and its calculated mileage before replacement is many tens of thousands of kilometers. The achievement of excellent balance in almost all important operational properties was made possible by the use of advanced design methods and new materials.
Traction in the rain and braking efficiency
The tire tread was made from a rubber compound created using Nano Balance technology. The use of modern polymeric and silicon-containing compounds in its composition improved the traction properties, regardless of the amount of moisture on the road surface. Additionally, the tread became significantly more resistant to abrasive effects, which increased its service life. It is also worth noting the significant reduction in rolling resistance, which had a positive impact on fuel consumption. The manufacturer claims a 5% savings compared to direct competitors.
Low weight with high strength
All internal elements of the tire are made from modern synthetic materials. At the same time, modern winding methods were used to create the cord carcass and sidewalls, which made it possible to increase the density of the threads and get rid of seams and joints. This design, in addition to its low weight, is also characterized by high rigidity and resistance to impact.
The breaker located directly under the tread is also made from synthetic cord, but it consists of several wide strips. This solution made it possible to significantly increase the rigidity of this element while maintaining its weight and the weight of the tire as a whole at a very low level. This led to a reduction in rolling resistance, improved traction properties during maneuvering, faster transmission of lateral accelerations, and a number of other handling qualities.
A.T.O.M.
The tire tread pattern was developed using A.T.O.M. technology, which is a complex of hardware and software. With its help, it was possible to select a combination of the number, shape, size, and arrangement of tread elements that provides the best balance of the tire's operational properties, first and foremost between traction, handling, rolling resistance, and noise level.
Multifunctional three-dimensional lamellae
The shoulder zones of the tire tread have a large number of lamellae. They are made in a three-dimensional design, which allows these elements to perform several functions at once. The main one is to enhance traction on slippery surfaces during longitudinal accelerations. The more dense fixation of the block walls due to numerous protrusions limits the mobility of the blocks, which leads to improved handling and reduced risk of uneven wear.
