Toyo Proxes R35

The Toyo Proxes R35 summer tire is designed for compact and mid-size passenger cars. It was developed for use in the Toyota Prius+, which it comes with as part of the primary equipment. It is distinguished by its bright fuel-saving properties, improved traction on wet surfaces, and soft, comfortable ride.

The tread pattern of the tire is optimized in a special way to not only increase the contact patch, but also reduce rolling resistance. The same approach prevailed in the development of the tread pattern design. It features large longitudinal ribs in the center and blocks in the shoulder areas. The stiffness of these elements reduces rolling resistance and improves handling accuracy and high-speed stability. The transverse grooves and slits in the ribs and blocks form sharp edges in the contact patch, allowing for intense acceleration and deceleration on wet surfaces. The voluminous longitudinal drainage grooves minimize the risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds. It is worth noting the use of a special compound that, due to its high "silica" content, allows the tire to grip the wet surface more effectively. Additionally, the rubber mixture contains special polymeric compounds that reduce heat generation during prolonged high-speed driving, which reduces rolling resistance and fuel consumption along with it.
