Description Toyo Proxes R31
The Toyo Proxes R31 summer tire is designed for the Mazda 2 Genki passenger car, being part of its factory equipment. The model is characterized by improved traction and handling at high speeds, reliable behavior on wet pavement, and increased braking efficiency.
T-shaped lamellas
The shoulder blocks contain T-shaped cuts. These miniature elements perform several functions at once. The most obvious of them is the formation of additional traction edges, which increase the effectiveness of the tread on wet pavement. In addition, such cuts, when in contact with the road surface, significantly increase the contact patch and optimize the load distribution on it. As a result, both traction and wear resistance are improved.
Low noise level
The tire demonstrates high acoustic comfort while driving. Its level is largely due to the effective work of special grooves in the central longitudinal ribs. They prevent the formation of both high-frequency noise from the airflow passing through the drainage grooves and low-frequency noise caused by vibrations.
Resistance to aquaplaning
The tire's tread contains four very voluminous longitudinal drainage grooves. This is more than enough to eliminate the risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds. Additional resistance to this effect is provided by numerous transverse grooves in the shoulder areas.
Key features of the Toyo Proxes R31 tire
- T-shaped lamellas in the shoulder blocks increase the stability of traction, prevent premature wear of the tread;
- acoustic comfort due to the multi-step arrangement of tread elements and special grooves in the drainage groove walls;
- reliable behavior on wet pavement is ensured by the significant volume of the four longitudinal drainage grooves in the central part.
