The Toyo Observe Garit KX passenger winter tire, produced by one of Japan's largest manufacturers, is designed for luxury sedans and sports cars.
This tire is only available in three profile height options - 45, 50, and 55%. The development of this tire extensively utilized computer simulation technologies, including the "DSOC-T" technology, which simulated the tire's behavior in various conditions.
The directional tread pattern of the tire significantly reduced the braking distance and improved traction on acceleration. The tread pattern features six ribs, providing a larger contact patch area for the Toyo Observe Garit KX tire. Five longitudinal grooves, combined with transverse channels, quickly and efficiently remove snow, slush, and water from the contact patch.
A multitude of individual blocks with wavy edges provide excellent traction and handling characteristics on slippery surfaces. Additionally, the tire's tread is equipped with numerous self-sharpening lamellas of a zigzag shape, allowing the tire to effectively grip complex surfaces such as bare ice. The optimized shoulder area width of the tread, combined with special longitudinal lamellas of a wavy shape, prevents the manifestation of lateral skidding when cornering.
The tread compound of the Toyo OGKX tire also features a number of innovative solutions. The use of silica improved traction and reduced braking distance on snowy, icy, and wet roads. To improve traction on icy surfaces, the tread compound includes small particles of walnut shell, the sharp edges of which literally dig into the ice.
Key features of the Toyo Observe Garit KX
- Improved traction and shorter braking distance on snow and wet roads, thanks to the high silica content in the tread compound;
- Excellent performance on icy surfaces, ensured by the innovative "Microbits" technology;
- Blocks with wavy edges effectively break through the water film on ice, providing excellent handling on ice;
- High lamella density provides excellent traction on snowy surfaces;
- Longitudinal lamellas in the shoulder areas of the tread effectively combat skidding when cornering;
- Five longitudinal grooves provide excellent directional stability and prevent lateral skidding.
