In addition to rolling resistance, when developing the Toyo NanoEnergy 3 tire, Japanese specialists paid much attention to driving comfort, primarily acoustic. This was achieved through the scheme of arrangement of all tread elements, as well as the presence of special recesses on the walls of the longitudinal drainage grooves. They significantly reduce the noise level from the air flow passing through the drainage grooves during movement. These tread elements demonstrate maximum efficiency at high speeds.
Updated rubber compound composition
One of the innovations of the NanoEnergy 3 model was the rubber compound, the composition of which has undergone significant changes compared to its predecessors. First of all, it is worth noting the appearance of a super-active polymeric compound of a new generation. With its help, it was possible to significantly increase the resistance of the tread pattern to abrasive effects, as well as reduce rolling resistance.
It is also worth noting the presence in the composition of the rubber compound of silicon-containing components, which most car owners know as silica. This substance provides additional traction on wet surfaces, as well as resistance to abrasive wear.
