The Japanese manufacturer characterizes the Toyo J48 summer tire as a high-performance model created using the latest technologies. At the same time, it has the "signature" features common to other tires of this brand. First of all, this is a long service life and fuel efficiency.

Applicability

This model is offered in only one size - 205/55 R16. This is due to the fact that the tire is part of the initial equipment of some Mazda passenger cars belonging to the C class. The choice of this tire by the automaker is due to the desire to emphasize the excellent handling and "lively" character of the tires, adapted for dynamic driving with sharp maneuvers and accelerations. These elements perform several functions at once. First of all, it is the formation of additional traction edges. They significantly increase the effectiveness of the tread when maneuvering, starting and braking. Another function of these lamellas is to optimize the distribution of external load on the contact patch, which on the one hand improves handling, making it reliable and predictable, and on the other hand prevents uneven wear.

No aquaplaning and low noise level

Among other reasons why the developers chose a non-directional design for the tread pattern, it is worth noting the wide possibilities for equipping it with a highly efficient drainage system. Its main components are four grooves that run along the entire tread between the central ribs and shoulder zones. Their volume is more than sufficient to effectively dry the contact patch even in heavy rain, thus avoiding the occurrence of aquaplaning. At the same time, the use of lamellas instead of transverse grooves made it possible to significantly improve acoustic comfort.
