The Sailun Ice Blazer WST1 tire is the first studded winter model created by this renowned Chinese manufacturer. Developed in collaboration with leading tire companies, this tire provides a high level of safety on any winter road at a relatively low cost. This model is available in 17 different sizes with a rim diameter of 13 to 15 inches, with two 15-inch sizes designed for light commercial vehicles. All this speaks to the exceptionally wide range of applications for this novelty of the Chinese tire industry.
The tire's tread is designed according to classic patterns. Its pattern is executed in the classic V-shaped design, which immediately catches the eye with massive arrow-shaped blocks separated from the shoulder zones by two wide drainage grooves. At the same time, the central longitudinal rib has a solid and therefore very rigid structure, without any breaks throughout the tread. Thanks to this technical solution, it was possible to improve directional stability and reduce rolling resistance. Additionally, the central rib is characterized by the presence of many sharp edges and angles, which, in combination with two rows of massive blocks, provides excellent traction and coupling characteristics on snow.
Each of the shoulder zones of the Sailun Ice Blazer WST1 tire's tread consists of a series of individual blocks made in the shape of a quadrangle. At the same time, these tread elements are arranged almost perpendicular to the direction of movement, which significantly improved the tire's passability on deep snow and also improved the effectiveness of braking on various slippery surfaces.
One of the innovations of this model is the presence of 6 rows of steel studs, which, in combination with a countless number of lamellas, provides excellent coupling with an icy surface. It is also impossible not to note the significantly changed composition of the rubber mixture, to which some components were added that allow the tire to maintain elasticity even at very low temperatures.
