The all-season Roadstone Roadian M/T tire was developed by specialists of the South Korean tire conglomerate Nexen, which owns this brand. Although it is positioned as a model for crossovers, it belongs to the Mud Terrain category, which is not typical for tire products intended for this type of vehicle. Another feature is the tire sizes offered by the manufacturer with a profile height of 75 to 85%.

Zigzag-shaped shoulder blocks

The shoulder zones of the tire tread contain many zigzag-shaped blocks. This forms curved gripping edges, which improves their effectiveness on unpaved surfaces with reduced bearing capacity. It is also worth noting the large distance between the shoulder blocks. This feature allows the tread to effectively self-clean, which further improves passability.

Central part with open design

The ability of the tire's working surface to self-clean is also expressed in the central part, which is made in an open design with many individual elements. They are arranged at a large angle and have a polygonal shape. This solution gives the tire's operational properties balance. On the one hand, such a design reduces rolling resistance and provides increased directional stability, and on the other hand, it improves traction and adhesion characteristics, especially on unpaved surfaces.

Low risk of aquaplaning

The design of the tread center with inclined blocks has another advantage. The drainage grooves between them are directed at an angle. This allows the use of centrifugal forces arising during wheel rotation to divert water, which further reduces the risk of aquaplaning.

Protected sidewalls

The shoulder blocks extend far down onto the tire's sidewalls. The protrusions formed by them protect the tread from mechanical impact, which increases reliability off-road. In addition, on unpaved surfaces with low bearing capacity, these elements form additional gripping edges, which significantly improves passability on them.

Precision handling and high-speed stability

A distinctive feature of the tire is its decent performance on the highway for its category. To a large extent, this is ensured by the presence of a 2-layer steel cord in the breaker. Such a "base" has exceptional stiffness and resistance to deformation. The tire's bead also has similar properties, where there is a special filler that enhances the density of its seating on the wheel disk. When driving, all these features improve various operational properties - the accuracy of steering the vehicle, speed stability, and grip when maneuvering.
