The Riken Raptor ZR summer tire is one of the most successful attempts by a little-known Chinese manufacturer in our country to create a high-performance model designed for powerful high-speed passenger cars. Aggressive V-shaped design
Judging by the tread pattern, this tire was initially designed with the aim of providing maximum grip, primarily on wet surfaces. The very aggressive V-shaped design of the tread pattern unequivocally hints at this, which is characteristic of so-called "rain tires".
It consists of several functional zones, each of which is designed to solve a certain set of tasks. In particular, the central longitudinal rib of the Riken Raptor ZR is designed to provide maximum course stability. Moreover, due to the fact that this tread element has very high stiffness, it gives the tire's handling a sporty clarity, precision, and speed.
On both sides of the central longitudinal rib, there are many arrow-shaped blocks. Their massive size, as well as the complex polygonal shape, provides the contact patch with maximum size and a large number of differently directed gripping edges.
At the edges of the tread pattern, there are quite wide shoulder zones. Due to their massive size and multi-radius profile, the tire demonstrates increased stability when performing sharp maneuvers. Additionally, this part of the tread contains a large number of rectangular blocks, the edges of which allowed to significantly reduce the braking distance.
