Rauffan Snowmaster W4 — a non-studded winter tyre for passenger cars. The model features an asymmetric tread pattern, with central ribs and shoulder areas composed of blocks of varying shapes and orientations. This design combines a high number of biting edges with large supporting elements, helping drivers maintain confident control on unpredictable winter roads.
The tread block surfaces are densely cut with fine, wavy sipes. When in contact with the road, these create numerous additional biting edges that enhance grip on compacted snow and slippery surfaces. For drivers, this means more confident acceleration, improved traction during braking, and predictable vehicle response during manoeuvres.
Wide longitudinal grooves are complemented by transverse and diagonal channels. Together, they form effective pathways for evacuating water and slush from the contact patch. This design helps maintain road contact during thaw conditions.
Blocks in the central area are arranged in longitudinal rows and feature multiple angled edges, while the shoulder elements are larger and more robust. The central zone helps maintain directional stability, while the reinforced shoulders support the tyre under lateral loads. As a result, the vehicle responds more steadily to steering inputs and handles corners with greater stability.
The non-studded construction eliminates the characteristic metallic knocking noise on cleared asphalt. This makes the Snowmaster W4 well-suited for everyday winter driving, where snowy and wet sections frequently alternate with dry pavement.
