Rauffan Mega Trak A/T II — summer tyre of the All Terrain class for off-road vehicles and SUVs. Its tread is made up of large blocks of irregular shape, arranged fairly closely. This layout is suitable for mixed routes on asphalt, gravel, compacted dirt, and moderate off-road terrain: beyond the solid road, numerous traction edges work, and on asphalt, a wide support surface is maintained.
In the central zone, blocks of different configuration form interconnected chains. Their jagged edges are oriented both along and across the direction of movement. Thanks to this, the tread helps to transmit traction when accelerating on loose surfaces and resist lateral displacement when steering, maintaining a more predictable trajectory on uneven roads.
Between the lugs, a network of wide zigzag channels passes, connected to each other across the entire width of the tread. On wet surfaces, they direct water to the edges of the contact patch. On dirt roads, the channels leave a way for mud and small loose material to exit. This helps the tread to maintain open working edges and continue to grip the surface.
The shoulder areas are formed by massive transverse blocks with grooves open towards the sidewall. When the wheel hits a soft spot or drives along the edge of a rut, the outer edges add traction and help the vehicle continue moving. Additional relief in the transitional zone protrudes beyond the main contour of the sidewall surface and takes part of accidental contacts with stones and hard edges of the rut.
On the surface of the central and shoulder blocks, fine cuts are made. They add small traction edges that help to brake and change direction more confidently on wet asphalt. The dense arrangement of large lugs simultaneously limits their excessive mobility under load and maintains stable reactions to the steering wheel on solid surfaces.
Key features of Rauffan Mega Trak A/T II
- large blocks with differently oriented edges help to accelerate and maintain trajectory on gravel and dirt;
- a wide network of interconnected channels diverts water and facilitates the exit of mud from the tread;
- open shoulder grooves add grip on soft surfaces and at the edge of a rut;
- massive shoulder blocks create a stable support when turning on a solid road;
- the protruding relief of the transitional zone takes part of the contacts with stones and irregularities;
- fine cuts and dense arrangement of blocks help to brake and handle the vehicle more confidently on wet asphalt.
