Pro Comp Mud Terrain

The all-season Pro Comp Mud Terrain tire from the well-known North American manufacturer was specially designed for SUVs and pickups, the operation of which is associated with regular overcoming of difficult muddy and sandy off-road sections. In addition, this model can be equipped with studs, for which special holes are provided, located in the shoulder areas of the tread.

This model is equipped with a tread with a non-directional symmetric pattern, featuring an original Z-shaped design. The tread is equipped with four longitudinally arranged ribs, each of which represents a row of separate blocks. Like a special mud off-road tire, all tread blocks have massive sizes and great height. At the same time, the tread blocks located in the central part of the tread have a complex polygonal shape, which allows for reliable traction with the surface in all directions.

A characteristic feature of the Pro Comp Mud Terrain model is the direct angle of inclination between the blocks of the central ribs and the lugs of the shoulder areas of the tread. Due to this, maximum traction and coupling values are achieved when moving on loose and unstable soils. At the same time, thanks to the bidirectional tread pattern, the traction-coupling indicators remain equally high in both directions of movement. In addition, the large distance between the blocks in combination with the depth of the tread pattern made it possible to provide the tire tread with excellent self-cleaning indicators not only from dirt, sand, and snow but also from fairly large stones, which, undoubtedly, significantly improved the passability indicators.

Another distinctive feature of this model is the presence on the surface of the blocks located in the center of the tread of special elliptical-shaped lamellas. At the moment of contact between the block and the surface, the edges of the lamellas cling to each other, which significantly improves the stiffness of the tread block.
