The all-season Pro Comp All Terrain tire, released by a well-known North American manufacturer, was specifically designed for high-performance vehicles - SUVs and pickup trucks. Thanks to the universal tread pattern, this model has a rare balance of operational characteristics for off-road tires.
The tread of this tire features a symmetrical non-directional pattern with a Z-shaped design, which is aggressive. The tread pattern consists of five main elements - two shoulder zones and three longitudinal ribs, located in the central part. All five ribs are separate rows of massive blocks.
A distinctive feature of the Pro Comp All Terrain tire is the 50-degree angle of inclination between the blocks located in the central part of the tread. According to the American tire manufacturers, this angle of inclination provides an ideal balance between the noise level, rolling resistance, and traction on various types of surfaces. Additionally, all tread blocks have rounded edges, which allows for a significant reduction in noise levels without compromising traction performance. It is also worth noting the presence of elliptical lamellas on the surface of all tread blocks. These lamellas self-lock when the tread block comes into contact with the surface, resulting in a significant increase in block stiffness. As a result, traction is improved, rolling resistance is reduced, and handling becomes more responsive.
This model has excellent self-cleaning tread characteristics, which are ensured by the large distance between all tread elements. Thanks to this, the tire's drainage system easily removes not only water but also sand, mud, snow, and even stones. This, in turn, has led to a significant improvement in off-road performance on various surfaces and ensured excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
