The Pirelli Winter Studdable Plus winter tire is installed on passenger cars, predominantly of the small class. It is characterized by the balance of the main operational properties, making it a suitable option for the widest range of motorists.
The design of the tread pattern is distinguished by small sizes and symmetrical and paired arrangement of elements. In the central part, they form a wide solid rib, which makes it easier to control the vehicle, both on a straight line and in turns, with clear feedback on the steering wheel. Cross-shaped grooves are also located here, which enhance traction on snow.
In the shoulder areas, the blocks are also made in the form of paired elements, which are located almost perpendicular to the direction of movement. As a result, the edges formed by them provide effective deceleration on snowy surfaces and facilitate exit from the rut, interacting with deep notches on the lateral surface of the shoulder blocks.
On icy surfaces, the tire demonstrates excellent performance, largely due to the high density of lamella arrangement. Narrow slits, due to their large number and wavy shape, allow the tire to effectively grip the slippery icy and wet surface. If necessary, this property can be further enhanced by installing studs. Specifically for these purposes, the manufacturer has provided mounting holes, which are arranged in such a way that during movement, 6 longitudinal rows are formed.
