The Pirelli Winter 190 Direzionale tire has a directional tread with a zigzag structure. This provides improved coupling characteristics, both on snowy roads and on icy surfaces. This is achieved due to the rapid removal of excess snow from the contact zone.
To give the tire better braking properties, the developers have equipped it with a large number of transverse lamellas. There are 1600 of them on one tire. At the same time, such a structure also had a positive effect on the traction properties, which are especially relevant when operating the tire on snowy roads.
Optimized compound composition
The rubber compound used to produce the tire has also undergone a number of changes that have positively affected its operational characteristics. Thanks to special additives, the model has acquired properties to withstand low temperatures without reducing its coupling and braking properties.
