The target audience of the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico SUV summer tire is owners of SUVs and crossover vehicles who value uncompromising, sports-tuned handling and reliable traction at high speeds and in any road conditions, while also having the option to not sacrifice comfort. The manufacturer offers this model in a special version - with a layer of sound-absorbing polymer material on the inner surface of the tire.
Z-shaped blocks
The effective exterior appearance of this tire is largely due to the use of Z-shaped blocks in its tread pattern. It enhances traction properties during acceleration and braking, especially on wet surfaces.
Solid central rib
Between the two rows of Z-shaped blocks is a wide solid rib. This element, due to its high resistance to deformation and longitudinal direction, increases directional stability and steering accuracy at high speeds, reduces rolling resistance and the level of abrasive impact on the tread. Here, it is necessary to note the design of the shoulder areas. The blocks located in them, due to their rigidity, provide fast and accurate transmission of multidirectional acceleration forces to other elements of the tire's design, which significantly simplifies the process of controlling the vehicle.
Increased longitudinal grooves
A feature of the tread pattern design is the longitudinal drainage grooves. These elements have an increased volume, thanks to which the process of water removal from under the contact patch occurs with very high intensity. As a result, the risk of aquaplaning becomes minimal.
Key features:
- Z-shaped blocks in the central part allow for intense acceleration and deceleration on wet surfaces;
- the solid central rib increases steering accuracy and directional stability, reduces wear and fuel consumption;
- increased longitudinal drainage grooves with exceptional efficiency prevent aquaplaning at any speed;
- rigid shoulder blocks increase stability during maneuvering, simplify the process of controlling the vehicle in complex situations.
