The Pirelli Scorpion winter 2 Elect winter tire is designed for use in crossovers and SUVs with electric powertrains. It is characterized by stable traction on wet and snowy roads, comfortable quiet and smooth ride, reduced rolling resistance, and wear resistance.
The directional tread pattern is distinguished by the arrangement of V-shaped traction edges with significant offset relative to the center of the tread. This solution improves traction properties and directional stability on snow, while also reducing noise and vibration, and preventing rapid wear of the tread. Another such feature is the profile of the groove walls. They contain special protrusions that allow capturing and retaining snow, improving traction properties on such surfaces. It is worth noting the use of 3D lamellae. The slits with straight edges limit the mobility of the blocks, which provides more confident braking, both on snowy surfaces and on roads cleared of precipitation. In addition, the tire's mileage is increased due to a more even distribution of load on the contact patch.
The tire's tread is made of a rubber compound optimized for use in vehicles with electric powertrains. Due to the application of a complex of polymers, the compound not only remains elastic at low temperatures but also significantly reduces the heating of the tread, thereby reducing rolling resistance.
Key features of Pirelli Scorpion winter 2 Elect
- the arrangement of V-shaped edges with offset reduces noise and vibration, prevents premature wear of the tread;
- 3D lamellae with straight edges improve traction and braking properties on the most slippery road surfaces;
- the rubber compound with a polymer complex not only keeps the tread elastic at low temperatures but also reduces rolling resistance
