The all-season Pirelli Scorpion Verde Seal-Inside tire is a modification of the same-name model in the HT category for SUVs and crossovers. It is characterized by increased reliability due to its ability to self-seal punctures caused by foreign objects with a diameter of up to 6 mm. At the same time, the applied technology did not affect the tire's handling properties in any way.
The tire's design uses Seal Inside technology. This solution involves the presence of a layer of gel-like substance based on rubber and polymers on the inside of the tire. In the event of a puncture, it seals the hole, tightening it. The elasticity and high adhesion ability ensure the reliability of such a "repair", allowing the vehicle to continue moving.
In addition to the Seal Inside technology, the high level of reliability is ensured by the physico-chemical properties of the rubber compound. The basis of its composition is small crystals of silicon dioxide and functional polymers. These components give the tire strength in terms of tearing and stretching, resistance to wear, and also increase its "grip" on wet surfaces.
