The summer tire Pirelli PZero Sports Car PZ4 is designed for the most dynamic modifications of passenger cars and crossovers. It is the flagship model of the "sports" tire line of the Italian brand and is used as a "base" when creating special versions for specific car models for their primary equipment.
Stability on wet pavement
Even for its category, the tire stands out for its increased grip on wet pavement. This is due to several factors. First and foremost, it is the physico-chemical properties of the compound. Its composition is characterized by an ultra-high content of silicon dioxide. Particles of a particularly small size are used, which increase the homogeneity of the rubber mixture, making it not only exceptionally elastic on a cold and wet surface but also strong in terms of tear and tensile strength.
The second factor explaining the tire's stability on wet pavement is the tread pattern. The longitudinal grooves contained in it have an increased internal volume, which minimizes the likelihood of aquaplaning to a minimum. At the same time, the numerous lamellas, forming sharp edges, increase the traction force and braking efficiency.
Asymmetric pattern with functional areas
The tread part of the tire is made in an effective asymmetric design, which is characterized by large sizes of all elements. They are arranged in such a way as to form several functional areas. Each of them improves certain driving qualities. The shoulder blocks on the outside increase stability and steering accuracy when maneuvering. The three rows of blocks located nearby improve stability during straight-line movement, increase traction during acceleration.
Main features:
- The rubber mixture with an ultra-high content of fine silica particles improves grip on wet pavement and resistance to abrasive wear, reduces rolling resistance and the risk of puncture and rupture;
- The increased volume of the longitudinal grooves reduces the likelihood of aquaplaning;
- The asymmetric pattern with functional areas gives the tire balanced operational and driving qualities, while improving each of them.
