The Pirelli P4000 summer tire is specially designed for compact passenger cars. However, unlike most similar models from other brands, this tire demonstrates somewhat different driving qualities. First and foremost, it's the increased precision in handling, improved traction on wet surfaces, along with acoustic comfort and increased rideability.
The tread pattern is notable for the presence of a large number of transverse lamellas and drainage grooves. Moreover, in the central part, the elements have a Z-shaped form, which further reduces the risk of aquaplaning. The arrangement of the edges and walls formed by them allowed for a significant increase in both traction and braking properties on wet surfaces. Another feature of the tire is its increased contact patch. This was achieved by optimizing the profile of the entire tread, which has a minimal curvature in the central part that increases only at the very edge. This noticeably improves the traction properties, making them stable during maneuvering. It's worth noting the presence of reinforced sidewalls and a carcass, which further improve handling, along with reducing rolling resistance.
