Description Pirelli PZero 245/45 R18 100P XL

The Pirelli PZero is a high-speed model that meets most consumer requirements. This tire is specifically designed for powerful and prestigious sports cars. During its production, the company's specialists have made every effort to implement all the best characteristics necessary for driving at high speeds. The tire is designed primarily for use on solid road surfaces. It provides an increased level of comfort when driving at high speeds, reliable handling, and quiet movement. Excellent technical characteristics ensure safe driving and high-quality traction with various road surfaces.

The specially developed exclusive "Z"-shaped tread with a rounded shoulder area and the image of a yellow scorpion give the tire an attractive appearance, making it ideal for car tuning.

The Pirelli PZero tire combines: Pirelli's safety and style. This technology is currently used for the most powerful all-wheel drive cars. Three massive water-removing channels quickly remove water from the contact area, increasing traction when driving on wet road surfaces. Great attention was paid to increasing safety and reliability, which are essential when driving at high speeds. Therefore, a special reinforced frame was used in the tire, allowing it to withstand increased loads. A specially designed lamella system increased traction and reduced the sound effect when driving.

All these excellent characteristics have made the tire very popular among speed enthusiasts who want to feel safe and fully control the situation on the road when driving at high speeds.

Main characteristics of the Pirelli PZero tire

- a specially designed Z-shaped tread pattern provides excellent traction with any road and quick feedback;
- special additives in the rubber increased traction when driving on wet road surfaces and the wear resistance of the tread, resulting in an extended service life;
- a unique frame design made it possible to achieve increased safety and reliability when driving at high speeds;
- special ring grooves and zigzag blocks quickly remove water from the tread, perfectly coping with aquaplaning.

Technologies

Three wide longitudinal grooves

Accelerated water evacuation for enhanced safety and handling in potential aquaplaning situations

Three solid central ribs

Enhanced braking performance and traction at high speeds due to increased tread stiffness and optimal, consistent contact patch area

Pirelli PZero: sporty handling and stability at high speed

Model for drivers of powerful cars who value precise handling and confident road behaviour. The compromise is a lifespan of 20-40 thousand km and stiffness, especially in RunFlat versions.

Who is it suitable for: Pirelli PZero reveals its potential on premium-class vehicles with powerful engines, where responsiveness to the steering wheel and stability at high speeds are crucial. Owners of BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche note the precise handling on dry roads and predictable behavior during active driving. Three water-dispelling channels ensure confident grip in the rain, which is confirmed by a rating of 4.40/5 for resistance to aquaplaning. The Y speed index and reinforced carcass allow withstanding high loads without losing control. Robust sidewalls with rim protection are especially valued on low-profile tyres and large diameters R19-R22. With calm operation, some sets reach 50-60 thousand km, but the typical lifespan is 20-40 thousand km. It is optimal for regions with high-quality roads and a warm climate, where the rubber compound works within its full range.

Who should consider an alternative: It's better to choose a different class if the priority is maximum comfort and softness of the ride, especially in cold weather. At temperatures below +10°C, the compound becomes harder, which is noticeable on low-profile and RF versions. Don't expect savings: rapid wear and high price make the cost per kilometer significant. For regions with poor roads and frequent potholes, it's more reasonable to look at tyres with a higher profile or increased durability. Drivers who plan to use one set for 3+ seasons should consider models with a focus on wear resistance. If silence in the cabin is important - the noise level is contradictory and depends on the size and vehicle.

Main reason for choice: The main argument is the sporty handling and stability at speed, confirmed by Autobild 2019 tests (1st place) and thousands of reviews. The purchase seems reasonable when you understand: you pay for performance, not for durability. The practical benefit is full control on the highway and in turns, which is more important for a powerful car than economy. The level of comfort expectations should be kept realistic: this is a sport tyre, not a touring one. The final advice is to buy if your driving style is dynamic, the roads are of high quality, and your budget allows you to change the set every 2-3 seasons.
