The Pirelli Pzero Rosso Direzionale summer tire has a fairly specific range of applications. It is limited to the front axle of sports cars. This model was developed as part of the innovative Pzero tire system, which involved using tires with two tread patterns on one vehicle. The Direzionale version is designed for installation on the front axle, where its V-shaped tread pattern effectively removes water, leaving the groove dry for the Pzero Rosso Asimmetrico, which, according to the Italian tire makers, should be on the rear axle of the vehicle, providing maximum longitudinal traction properties.

Directional design with wide drainage grooves

One of the key features of the Pirelli PZero Rosso Direzionale model is a tread with a large number of drainage grooves. They are characterized by a significant internal volume, which allows the tire to almost instantly dry the contact patch, regardless of the amount of water being drained from it. The efficiency of the drainage system has been increased many times due to the curved shape and location of the transverse drainage grooves against the direction of movement. Thanks to this, water is removed from the tread mainly under the action of centrifugal forces that arise during wheel rotation.

Rigid double longitudinal rib

Another feature of the directional tread pattern of this model is a wide longitudinal rib located in its central part. In addition to continuity, it is characterized by a double structure, which makes this tread element even more resistant to dynamic deformation. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent directional stability and reliable behavior when driving at high speed, as well as extremely fast and accurate responses to the driver's actions, which significantly simplifies the process of managing a sports car.
