The Pirelli Pzero Asimmetrico summer tire has long been a flagship of the Italian manufacturer's model range, along with the Pzero Direzzionale model. Both tires were part of the innovative Pzero system, developed specifically for civilian sports cars. Its feature was that for each sports car separately, out of hundreds of options, after computer calculations and road tests, one single option was selected, which provided the best ride quality. Among them, the Pzero Asimmetrico stood out with a wider range of applications, as it could be installed not only on the front axle, like the Direzzionale, but also on the rear wheels.

Asymmetric tread pattern

The versatility of this model is largely due to the use of a tread with an asymmetric design. By dividing it into several separate zones, each with its own functionality, the Italian tire makers were able to give the tire excellent performance in any conditions without compromising important operating properties such as fuel efficiency and acoustic comfort.

Excellent aquaplaning resistance

Thanks to the wide tread on most sizes, this tire has a very efficient drainage system. Its key elements are four longitudinal grooves with a very large internal volume. The water diverted from the contact patch enters them through transverse grooves, which, for maximum throughput, are arranged at a significant angle against the direction of travel and have a curved shape that prevents the formation of vortices in the water flows.

Confidence in turns

Another feature of the tread pattern design of this model is the closed construction of the shoulder areas. They contain a large number of massive blocks connected by a rigid bridge that has no interruptions throughout its length. This made it possible to significantly improve several operating properties at once. First of all, maneuverability stability, resistance to uneven wear. In addition, the transverse edges formed by the numerous blocks significantly reduce the braking distance.
