The key feature of the Pirelli Eufori@ summer tire is not its original name, but the fact that it was initially created as a Run Flat model. This approach is fundamentally different from what the vast majority of other tire manufacturers practice, preferring to modernize an already finished product. The practical result of developing a Run Flat tire "from scratch" is very high performance. In the event of a complete loss of pressure inside, it is possible to move at a speed of up to 90 km/h for a distance of up to 90 kilometers. At the same time, the driver will not feel any significant changes in traction and handling.
Reinforced sidewall construction
The ability to move with a complete loss of pressure inside is due to the sidewall construction, which has high load-carrying capacity. At the same time, it has a number of other advantages, namely exceptional resistance to deformation changes. This was achieved through the use of a compound with new-generation polymers. With their help, it was possible to significantly strengthen the intermolecular bonds between all components of the rubber mixture.
Two-layer tread
The stability of the tire's traction properties when punctured is largely ensured by the use of a two-layer tread. Its inner layer is made of a very rigid compound. This "substrate" allows the tire to practically completely retain its original shape when the pressure is lost. At the same time, the outer layer of the tread from a more elastic compound dampens minor irregularities on the road surface, giving the tire a soft ride.
Main features of the Pirelli Eufori@ tire
- Reinforced sidewall construction made of a compound with new-generation polymers provides the ability to move long distances at high speed with complete loss of pressure inside the tire;
- A two-layer tread with a rigid inner layer and an outer part with increased elasticity allows the tire, on the one hand, to retain its original shape when punctured, and on the other hand, gives it a soft ride.
