Silence and wear resistance — these are the qualities that, according to a survey conducted among Pirelli company customers, were recognized as key. And in order to meet the emerging needs for quiet sound and durability, the company released a new summer tire Pirelli Cinturato P4. During its development, a new rubber compound was used, as well as a unique asymmetric tread pattern.
Rubber compound composition
To provide better grip on wet asphalt, a new rubber is used in the production of the tire. Thanks to this composition, the range of coatings for which the tire is intended is expanded — now the tire is suitable for all types of highways and roads. Moreover, a significant reduction in braking distance, increased safety and handling, and an expanded temperature range of tire application were achieved.
Tread pattern of the Cinturato P4 tire
One of the main features of the tire is the unique asymmetric tread pattern. Wide grooves in the inner area provide rapid water drainage from the contact patch. The new format of lamella arrangement in consecutive blocks not only allows the tire to be used in all conditions but also provides the necessary comfort during the trip. Moreover, the new tread increases handling precision, better responds to steering wheel actions, thereby ensuring stability on the road. The tread design allows confident passing of turns at higher speeds.
All these qualities make the tire the best option for compact class cars.
