The summer motorcycle tire owes its emergence to the huge popularity of sports models, which they have enjoyed for several previous years. At the same time, they are actively used not only on sportbikes, as it might seem, but also on motorcycles in the "sport touring" category. It is for them that the Pirelli Angel GT tire is intended, which is perfectly suited for both track-day events and long-distance travel.

Combination of excellent grip and wear resistance

Compared to the previous Angel ST model, the new model from the Italian tire giant differs not only in improved grip properties and resistance to aquaplaning, but also in a longer service life. It was with this goal in mind that the company's specialists increased the depth of the drainage grooves, which made it possible to remove a significantly larger amount of water from the contact patch. At the same time, changing the number of these grooves to one provided the tire with improved grip properties when cornering.

Another feature of this groove is the reduced depth in the central part. This, seemingly minor, feature allowed for improved braking efficiency on the front tire, as well as increased traction properties of the rear tire when driving in a straight line. At the same time, the improved load distribution across the contact patch ensured a longer service life.

Several rubber compound compositions

One of the features of this model is a rubber compound that varies in its characteristics depending on the tasks performed by certain areas of the tread during movement. The central part of the Pirelli Angel GT tread, which is approximately 20% of its total area, is made from a harder rubber compound, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent stability during acceleration on straight road sections, as well as increased wear resistance. In turn, the shoulder zones, which occupy approximately 70% of the total tread area, are fully made from a silicon-containing monomer, which provides excellent grip with the road when cornering.
