The winter non-studded tire Ovation W-582, produced by one of the leading Chinese tire brands, perfectly suits a wide range of modern passenger cars of various classes.
The tread pattern of this tire is built on a modern five-rib design. One of the distinctive features of the tire is a very wide central rib, consisting of many separate blocks, each of which has a trapezoidal shape. Due to the very small distance between the blocks, it was possible to provide this tread element with high stiffness, which had a beneficial effect on directional stability.
On the other hand, the sharp edges of the blocks improved traction on slippery roads. Another key feature of this tire is the different shape and size of the blocks, also located in the central part of the tread. This solution made it possible to provide excellent traction on dry surfaces, low rolling resistance, and improved passability on snowy road sections. Additionally, these blocks are arranged on the tread with a varying pitch relative to each other, which had a beneficial effect on the noise level.
It is also worth noting the presence on the tread of the Ovation W-582 tire of four very wide and deep longitudinal grooves. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to provide excellent resistance to aquaplaning, which brought a sense of stability and reliability to driving on wet roads.
When developing the design of the shoulder areas, the specifics of winter operation were taken into account, during which domestic car owners often have to overcome uncleared snow-covered road sections. To provide a decent level of passability, blocks were placed in the shoulder areas of the tread, the size and height of which turn them into excellent traction devices that work well when overcoming snowdrifts.
