Opals SAPPHIRE FH18 – a model representing a contact management system, developed for powerful SUVs born for asphalt. Thanks to it, it was possible to reconfigure the physics of a high and heavy vehicle, giving it an uncharacteristic lightness and predictability.

Asymmetric tread pattern

The model's design is an example of functional asymmetry, where each zone solves its own problem with surgical precision. The outer zone is formed by massive, monolithic blocks with a minimal step. Their goal is to provide maximum lateral stiffness. In a turn, they work like a stabilizing support, minimizing the characteristic SUV roll and ensuring rail stability. The inner zone contains an optimized system of channels and transverse lamellas. Wide longitudinal grooves with a profile calculated according to the laws of hydrodynamics create a turbulent flow, more effectively removing water from the contact patch than classic solutions. Additionally, each block is equipped with microscopic chamfers and cutting edges along the perimeter. They work like additional "claws", enhancing mechanical grip with wet asphalt and increasing steering accuracy.

Stability in any heat

The high center of gravity and weight of SUVs create extreme thermal loads on the tread. Our new formula solves this problem. Special synthetic polymers in the mixture composition have two temperature stabilization points. This allows the rubber to maintain optimal elasticity, both in cool weather for traction and remain rigid in extreme summer heat, preventing "tread drift". Ceramic particles in the silicate base reduce internal heating during prolonged high-speed driving. This directly increases wear resistance and tire durability.

Accuracy woven into the cord

The manageability of a heavy vehicle begins with a frame that should not only be strong but also optimally rigid. The breaker uses aramid-based threads. They are significantly stronger than steel at a comparable weight, allowing for the creation of an extremely rigid and lightweight power frame. This is the basis for instant reaction to steering and suppression of parasitic vibrations.
