The Nordman SZ2 summer tire is designed for the most dynamic versions of passenger cars. It is characterized by stable coupling properties and precise handling at high speeds, good ride comfort for tires of this class, especially on asphalt roads with "rough" coverage.

The design of the tread pattern is distinguished by the rigidity of its elements. This increases the directional stability and precision of handling, which ensures a high level of driving comfort, especially when driving at high speeds. The reliability of the coupling properties is maintained even on wet roads. This is largely due to the effectiveness of the drainage grooves, which are located longitudinally and transversely. In the shoulder areas, they have elliptical depressions that further reduce the risk of aquaplaning, literally pushing water out of the tread.

Technologies

Silent Groove Design

The semi-spherical depressions on the tapered ribs, resembling the design on a golf ball, provide additional driving comfort. They prevent the annoying whine noise from being generated. This solution makes driving both comfortable and quiet. It also reduces air resistance and cools the tire's surface, which in turn increases its durability.

Hydro Grooves

On the longitudinal ribs situated alongside the inner shoulder, a multitude of deep cross grooves has been carried out for stabilizing steering. At the same time, Hydro Grooves channels effectively prevent aquaplaning by collecting water between the tyre and the road and directing it into the longitudinal grooves.

Swoop Grooves Channels

To combat aquaplaning in the main circumferential grooves of the outer shoulder of the tyre, supplementary troughs in a wavy form are formed. These elliptical troughs, as the volume of the circumferential grooves increases in response to tyre deformation, capture more water, and direct it away from the point of contact. The tread pattern provides a reliable grip with wet road even with heavily worn tyres.
