Nordman SZ

The summer tire Nordman SZ is one of the novelties of the Finnish company. It is designed exclusively for powerful and high-speed passenger cars of various classes. At the same time, the manufacturer offers it in two versions, differing "on paper" from each other in speed index (V or W), and externally - in tread design. In both cases, it differs in asymmetric arrangement of elements, thanks to which the novelty demonstrates universal characteristics in any road conditions.

Two-layer tread

In both versions of this model, its tread has a two-layer structure. The lower "base" layer is characterized by increased stiffness, due to which the tire demonstrates those characteristics that are more inherent in sports models. We are talking, first of all, about fast and accurate reactions to steering wheel turns and stable reliable behavior at high speed.

In turn, the upper layer is made of a more elastic compound. Due to its softness, it significantly reduces the impact of small irregularities on the surface of the road. Thus, the tire is given softness on the move.

In addition, the outer layer of the compound is characterized by an increased content of silica, as well as the presence of polymer substances. This combination gives the tire a number of important advantages. The main ones are increased grip on wet roads, excellent wear resistance, as well as excellent tread strength against rupture.

Extended functionality of drainage grooves

Due to a number of solutions, some elements of the drainage system of this tire can perform several functions at once. Such abilities, in particular, are inherent in longitudinal drainage grooves. On their side walls, there are many spherical depressions. These additional elements make it possible to significantly reduce the level of noise generated by the tire during movement, due to the ordering of air flows that pass through the drainage grooves.

As for the "direct duties", the drainage grooves cope with them simply excellently. The excellent performance of the drainage system is ensured both by the multitude of elements and by their significant internal volume. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
