The Nordman Nordman RS winter non-studded tire is a great alternative to the very successful and popular Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi tire, which it is essentially a modification of. The tire is produced at a Russian plant, which is the most modern production facility currently available to this renowned and respected Finnish company worldwide.
Thanks to its excellent operating characteristics, this tire is almost as effective on winter roads as its more famous predecessor. At the same time, the tire has a significantly more advantageous price-to-quality ratio.
This was achieved through the use of the most modern technical developments available to Finnish tire manufacturers. In particular, the V-shaped design of the directed symmetrical tread pattern of the Nordman RS tire was used, which combines a large tire contact patch, low rolling resistance with excellent directional stability and high acceleration and braking efficiency. At the same time, the central part of the tread has a very rigid and solid structure, which gave the tire reliable and stable behavior when driving even on icy surfaces.
The entire tread of the Nordman RS tire is literally dotted with transverse lamellas, the use of which made it possible to more than compensate for the lack of studs when driving on ice. In addition, these lamellas improve the stiffness of each tread block, which significantly improved the braking efficiency and traction on slippery surfaces.
The rubber compound was also formulated with winter operation on domestic roads in mind. In particular, its composition includes rapeseed oil, which not only largely provided the tire with excellent elasticity at low temperatures but also increased the strength of its tread.
