Description Nordman 7 SUV
The Nordman 7 SUV winter tire is designed with the climate conditions of the Far North in mind and is intended for SUVs and crossovers that are primarily operated on paved roads. Structurally, it is a version of the same-name "passenger" model, differing from it in a reinforced carcass that compensates for the increased weight of vehicles with all-wheel drive transmission.
Anchor Studs
Some of the solutions used in this tire have already been used by Finnish tire manufacturers on other models, and have proven themselves to be the best. One of them is the anchor stud design. It is distinguished by its increased size and 8-sided flange shape, which, due to this, is more tightly fixed in the tread and is less susceptible to rocking. The carbide insert is made in a similar configuration, with its longest edges located across the direction of movement. The combination of such features significantly improves the traction and coupling properties of the tire when gaining speed and braking. It is also worth noting the longitudinal arrangement of the blocks in which the studs are installed. This further limits their mobility.
Low Noise Level
Despite the presence of a large number of studs, the tire demonstrates a high level of acoustic comfort. Special air cushions reduce noise. Some of them are located near the studs, while others are directly under them.

- A continuous longitudinal rib in the center improves directional stability;
- An 8-sided flange shape tightly fixes the stud in the tread, limiting its longitudinal mobility, which improves traction on ice when accelerating and braking;
- Air cushions under the studs reduce the noise level;
- Longitudinal lamellas in the shoulder areas prevent slash-planning.
