Description Nokian W
Nokian W – a tire for operation in regions with low-snow winters. It is characterized by confident handling on wet and slippery roads, good traction on loose snow, as well as increased resource.
The friction model is equipped with a directional tread, the basis of which is represented by numerous medium-sized blocks separated by channels. In combination with dense lamellization, this provides a strong fixation of the contact patch, including on icy surfaces, guaranteeing control over the vehicle. An important feature is the central zone of the tread, represented by a solid rib with geometrically correct side protrusions. It increases the overall maneuverability, making the behavior of the car maximally predictable.
To reduce the risk of hydroplaning and sideways skidding, a developed system of channels is provided, which quickly evacuates slush, water, and dirt from the contact zone. This should be added to the application of a special compound containing a significant percentage of "silica" – a special component based on siliceous compounds. It guarantees the preservation of a high level of elasticity of the tread blocks. In addition, the wear level is optimized, and the operational resource is increased.
Main features of Nokian W:
- high quality level, ensuring excellent performance characteristics;
- applicability on many cars used in the winter period;
- reliable fixation of the contact zone due to numerous block structures and three-dimensional lamellae densely covering the entire surface of the tread;
- directed drainage channels contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of the contact zone, leveling aquaplaning and slushing;
- a compound with a high percentage of silica optimizes grip with the road surface by preserving the elasticity of the block structures at low temperatures.
