Description Nokian NRY
The Nokian NRY summer tire was developed with the specifics of operating the most powerful modifications of modern mid-range passenger cars in mind. It is their owners who are the primary "target audience" of this model, which copes perfectly with the increased load, both from the significant weight of the car and from its high speed. At the same time, it demonstrates excellent grip and reliability throughout the entire service life, which was achieved through the use of a number of proprietary developments by the Finnish company.
"Rain" tread pattern
When developing this tire, the Finnish manufacturer's specialists paid much attention to ensuring maximum performance on wet roads. The drainage system of the tread plays a significant role in this. It is based on two longitudinal grooves located in the central part. In turn, the shoulder areas of the tread are protected from aquaplaning by numerous diagonal channels, the throughput of which is increased due to their location against the direction of movement.
Stability at any speed
The above-mentioned two longitudinal grooves in the center of the tread separate the shoulder areas from the wide rib. This element, due to its massive size and continuous design, is distinguished by excellent resistance to deformation, which gives the tire several advantages. The main one is very stable and predictable behavior of the car at high speed, as well as clear feedback when maneuvering.
Main features of the Nokian NRY tire
- exceptional resistance to aquaplaning due to a highly efficient drainage system, divided into several functional zones and containing grooves with a significant internal volume;
- a wide longitudinal rib in the center increases stability and reliability at high speed, provides more transparent feedback, which significantly simplifies the process of controlling the car;
- an strengthened sidewall construction, special filler in the tire bead provides reliable protection against mechanical damage, both to the tire itself and to the wheel rim.
