Description Nokian NRT2
All-season tire Nokian NRT2 is designed for use mainly in compact passenger cars. It is characterized by a set of operational properties, selected in such a way as to provide maximum safety and comfort during operation in urban conditions. It is distinguished by improved traction on dry and wet surfaces, comfort in handling when maneuvering, fuel efficiency, and increased tread life.
The directional tread pattern is a combination of numerous blocks and a solid longitudinal rib in the middle. This design provides a contact patch with numerous edges, most of which have a V-shaped arrangement, which is why the tire demonstrates excellent traction on wet surfaces, along with directional stability and reduced rolling resistance. A significant part of the tread's effectiveness on wet surfaces is ensured by the large number of lamellas. In the shoulder areas, cross-shaped cuts are used, which, due to their design, have expanded functionality. In addition to forming additional traction edges, these elements allow the blocks to adhere to a larger area, ensuring a more even distribution of load on the road surface. This significantly improves traction and handling, slows down the process of abrasive wear, and also gives the tire additional softness of ride. An important aspect is the use of an optimized rubber compound. It is able to remain elastic even at temperatures around "zero" degrees Celsius, which significantly increases the effectiveness of the tread in the so-called "interseasonal" period. In combination with the presence of a large number of lamellas, this compound significantly enhances the traction properties on wet and snowy surfaces, maintaining reliability of handling in such conditions.
Main features of Nokian NRT2:
- a solid longitudinal rib in the middle increases directional stability at high speed, providing comfort in handling in turns, reducing wear and fuel consumption;
- the V-shaped arrangement and direction against the movement of a significant number of grooves effectively prevents the formation of a continuous water film between the tire and the road surface;
- cross-shaped lamellas in the shoulder areas improve traction and handling on wet surfaces, give the tire additional smoothness of ride, reduce wear;
- the rubber compound, thanks to which the tire maintains reliable handling in difficult interseasonal conditions
