Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10p

The winter tire Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10p is one of the versions of the same-name model, developed for the Russian market. This is due exclusively to changes in regulatory standards for winter tires related to studs. In all other respects, both tires are identical to each other.

Like the previous model, the tread pattern is designed in a V-shape, but it has undergone a number of changes. First and foremost, this is the central part, where the arrow-shaped longitudinal rib has become narrower, and its "petals" are noticeably wider. This has made it possible to increase directional stability and accuracy in handling, reduce rolling resistance and uneven wear during maneuvers. Another important innovation in the tread pattern is the increase in the size of the shoulder blocks. This has improved traction and stability on snow and resistance to lateral skidding.

In connection with the changed regulatory standards, the geometric parameters of the stud and the size of the protrusion of its elements beyond the tread are clearly defined. It has become smaller, which is why the manufacturer had to increase the number of studs to compensate for the deterioration of traction properties. The hard alloy insert, as before, has a polygonal shape, which improves traction and braking effort on rolled snow and ice.
