Description Nokian Hakka Green 3
Like its predecessor, the summer tire Nokian Hakka Green 3 is suitable for almost any modern passenger car. And, as before, it is distinguished by excellent fuel economy indicators for its class, one of the best among the so-called "green" tires. It's no surprise, given the Finnish manufacturer's recommendations to use this model, including in electric vehicles. Other beneficial differences include increased traction on wet roads and, once again, an increased mileage to replacement.
Updated compound
In the development of this model, a significant part of the attention of Finnish tire makers was paid to increasing the service life. As a result, the rubber mixture underwent changes, receiving the name Hakka Green Hybrid in its new version. The silica-based compound, thanks to the presence of natural rubber and special polymers in its composition, can change its physical and chemical properties depending on road conditions, maintaining optimal elasticity in a very wide temperature range. At the same time, the increased molecular-level strength of the rubber mixture for tearing and stretching provides the tire with good resistance to abrasive wear, punctures, and cuts. The manufacturer claims a 35% increase in mileage compared to the previous generation tire.
Changes inside
A number of innovations affected the internal components of the tire. In particular, a steel cord with a more dense arrangement of threads appeared in the breaker. At the same time, their thickness was reduced. This made it possible to reduce the weight of the tire while maintaining the stiffness of the "base" at the same level. As a result, the rolling resistance and, along with it, fuel consumption decreased.
Improved Nokian Hakka Green 3 tread pattern
Like the previous model, the tread pattern is asymmetric and directional. It is distinguished by a division into three functional areas - central, inner, and outer shoulder zones. The functionality of all these areas is based on their interaction with each other, which enhances the effect of each of them on the driving characteristics of the tire, increasing its overall efficiency.
If you compare the tread design with the pattern of the previous model, a noticeable increase in the shoulder blocks immediately catches the eye. The elements located in the outer zone are combined in pairs. This significantly improves the stability of traction and precision in handling, reduces abrasive impact when maneuvering. It is also worth noting the increase in the volume of transverse grooves. As before, their design allows you to reproduce the Coanda effect, but now its impact on resistance to aquaplaning is at a higher level. This innovation further enhances the water diversion from the longitudinal grooves to the inner shoulder zone.
Main features:
- a rubber compound that adapts to temperature changes provides reliability in any conditions and increases the tire's service life;
- a breaker made of a more dense steel cord with smaller diameter threads reduces rolling resistance while maintaining high traction properties and handling precision;
- an asymmetric tread pattern with three functional areas improves rolling resistance and traction when maneuvering.
