The Nokian CLine Van summer tire is designed for commercial vans used for transportation over short distances. It is characterized by balanced driving qualities, along with increased durability, resistance to damage, fuel efficiency, and a long service life.
Being designed for transporting passengers and relatively light cargo, the tire has a "passenger car" tread pattern with an asymmetric arrangement of elements. This provides comfort in handling and stability of traction properties when driving at high speeds. The pattern features a rigid continuous longitudinal rib in the center, which helps the tire maintain its shape under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces, which in turn prevents its rapid wear. Among other design features of the tread, it is worth noting the presence of a large number of curved transverse grooves. These elements allow the tire to effectively combat aquaplaning, preventing the formation of a continuous water film in the contact patch. It is also worth noting the optimized arrangement of both the grooves themselves and other elements of the tread pattern with a certain pitch. This reduces the noise and vibrations generated by them, which has a positive effect on acoustic comfort.
The tire's profile is largely borrowed from commercial tires for large-capacity trucks. A trapezoidal profile of the shoulder zones is used here, which reduces tread wear, and in combination with the increased height of the sidewall of the tread, it improves directional stability and handling accuracy at high speeds. The tread is made of a specialized rubber compound containing components that simultaneously enhance traction properties on wet surfaces, providing high resistance to abrasive wear, cracking, and rupture during prolonged and intensive use.
