Developed for intensive urban operation, the Nitto NT450 model from the Japanese manufacturer solves the key problem of the driver: confident grip in any summer conditions without "sacrifices" in the form of stiffness or noise. The engineers achieved a rare combination — durability on dry and wet surfaces, clear handling, low noise level, and smooth ride.
Drainage system
The tread is a thoughtful network of multidirectional grooves. Unlike the aggressive asymmetric design of track tires, a combination of blocks and directed geometry is used here. Such an architecture effectively drains water from the contact patch already at 40-50 km/h, practically excluding planing.
Motion stability
The dual longitudinal rib in the center of the tread performs the role of a power frame. Its massive construction provides:
- ideal stability on a straight line — the tire does not "wander" when changing lanes and does not require steering correction;
- such a shape distributes loads more evenly;
- reduction of wear and rolling — the deformation of the central zone is minimized, which reduces heat and energy losses.
Control during maneuvering
One of the "chips" of the model is the rounded profile of the shoulder zones. When entering a turn, the shoulder blocks contact the road gradually, not sharply — the lateral deviation becomes smooth and predictable. In addition, the rounded edges soften the impact on asphalt joints, speed bumps, and potholes, which gives that very softness of the ride.
Main features of Nitto NT450:
- summer operation on passenger cars;
- increased length of curved edges of shoulder blocks provides excellent grip and short braking distance;
- central rib ensures stability at high speeds, reduces uneven wear, and reduces rolling resistance;
- central and diagonal grooves create a powerful drainage flow, actively fighting against aquaplaning.
