Description Nexen Winguard Spike SUV (нешип)
The non-studded version of the Nexen Winguard Spike SUV winter tire, like the standard version, is designed for SUV-class vehicles. This model is favorably distinguished by a higher level of acoustic comfort. At the same time, the driving qualities have hardly changed, since both tires are structurally almost identical to each other. Thanks to the use of modern technologies and materials, the studs are an auxiliary tool. Despite their absence, the tire even on icy roads demonstrates reliable traction and precise handling.
Straight-line stability and steering accuracy
The tread pattern of this model is divided into sections. One of them, located in the central part, occupies a large part of its area. It is formed from numerous blocks rigidly connected to each other by a continuous longitudinal rib into a single element. It has high resistance to deformation, which, together with its massiveness in size, provides the tire with excellent straight-line stability during straight-line movement, and during maneuvering and cornering - speed and accuracy in response to steering.
Confident behavior on wet and snowy roads
The drainage grooves in this tire have expanded functionality. A significant part of it is due to the V-shaped scheme of arrangement of these elements. They form high and very long edges, directed at a large angle. On wet roads, this significantly increases resistance to aquaplaning. On snow, the efficiency of the grooves is complemented by the presence of many intersections with each other. In such places, the tread captures and compact snow from the road surface, which strengthens its grip with it.
Z-shaped grooves
Most of the tread blocks have a Z-shaped side wall shape. This solution provides the formation of additional grip edges. Their vertical direction allows improving the grip properties on snowy roads, especially with deep snow cover.
Sine-shaped lamellas
The tread pattern is almost filled with sine-shaped cuts. The lamellas are located a few millimeters from each other, due to which their total number is counted in thousands. When in contact with the road surface, they form a large number of sharp edges, the height of which allows the tread to easily penetrate through the water film on icy roads, effectively grasping it. The sine-shaped shape of these elements significantly increases the length of the edges formed by them.
Main features:
- stability and accuracy in steering due to the design of the central part;
- multifunctional drainage grooves reduce the risk of aquaplaning and slush planing, improve grip properties on snowy roads;
- high density of lamellas and their sine-shaped shape provide efficiency on icy roads.
