The winter tire Nexen Eurowin 800 is a high-tech tire product designed for both passenger and commercial vehicles. For the latter, a special version of this model is offered, which has significant design differences. The tread pattern is identical, giving it stable and reliable behavior on winter roads.
LTR Version
The tire is offered in two execution options. In addition to the "passenger" version, the South Korean manufacturer releases the LTR version, specifically designed for commercial vehicles with small carrying capacity. With absolute identity in the design of the tread pattern, it has a number of significant differences in construction. Increased stiffness of the sidewalls, which allowed increasing the carrying capacity of the tire to 900 kg, compared to 437 kg of the standard version. LTR also differs in tread depth, which reaches 10 mm. In the "standard" version, this indicator is significantly lower - 8 mm. Additionally, two out of three options of Eurowin 800 LTR are studded tires. Such modifications are not offered for regular versions at all.
Classic Tread Pattern
The tread part of the tire is made in a design that is now commonly referred to as classic. It features four longitudinal ribs formed from blocks. The symmetrical, non-directional arrangement of elements gives the tire a number of important advantages. These include balanced operating properties. The tire simultaneously demonstrates good traction, handling, fuel efficiency, and acoustic comfort. Such a design reduces wear, as the external load is evenly distributed over the contact patch, thereby reducing the degree of aggressive impact of the road surface on the working surface of the tread.
Stable Handling on Icy Roads
Despite the fact that the tire belongs to the very beginning of the line of winter models, its design uses a number of modern technologies. One of the places of their application was the rubber compound. Its composition is more than half made up of "silica", a complex of silicon-containing components that give the tread elasticity at low external temperatures, while increasing resistance to abrasive effects. As a result, the tire has the ability to "stick" to slippery icy roads, closely hugging the smallest irregularities on its surface. Additional strengthening of traction is provided by numerous lamellas, forming a large number of edges.
Reliability in Adverse Road Conditions
The open design of the tread provides the tire with a number of advantages. One of them is the ability to equip it with a branched network of drainage grooves, located both longitudinally and transversely. Their increased width allows the tread to effectively combat both aquaplaning and slashplanning.
