The summer passenger tire Nexen CP691 is an upgraded version of the popular CP671 model, designed for powerful high-speed passenger sedans and coupes. This is unequivocally hinted at by the size range, which includes two types of tires for wheels with a mounting diameter of 17 and 18 inches, as well as speed indices - V and W.
Rigid Central Rib
To ensure directional stability when driving at high speeds, the company's specialists placed a longitudinal rib in the very center of the tread pattern. It is a very rigid structure with high resistance to dynamic deformations. Due to this feature, the tire demonstrates not only excellent directional stability at high speeds but also lightning-fast reactions to even the slightest steering movements. This makes the control process very sharp and precise.
Low Noise and Vibration Level
The ideal balance between sporty handling and ride comfort is one of the characteristic features of this model. This is largely due to the special grooves of an acute-angled shape, located in the central part of the tread. In combination with a 5-step scheme for arranging tread elements, this made it possible to significantly reduce resonant noise and vibrations.
Excellent Traction in Wet Conditions
The tread pattern of the Nexen CP691 tire consists of five longitudinal ribs separated by drainage grooves. Their impressive size allows them to easily cope with the removal of a huge amount of water from the contact patch, thereby keeping it dry. In addition, special silicon-containing components were introduced into the rubber compound, thanks to which the tread began to more closely fit even the smallest irregularities of the road surface, thereby providing more reliable traction with it.
Main Features of the Nexen CP691 Tire
- four wide drainage grooves located in the central part of the tread provide fast and efficient removal of excess water from the contact patch, thereby reducing the risk of aquaplaning;
- a massive longitudinal central rib, due to its high resistance to dynamic deformation, increases directional stability at high speeds, and also reduces the tire's response time to steering movements to a minimum;
- special grooves of an acute-angled shape, located in the central part of the tread, significantly reduce the noise level;
- an enhanced construction of the shoulder areas of the tread improves stability and handling when cornering.
