Its appearance is due to the inclusion in the primary equipment of passenger cars of many well-known brands. I.e. this tire is a slightly modified version of the popular CP672 model, designed for more powerful and, accordingly, high-speed passenger cars. The size range, unlike its predecessor, includes five sizes for wheels with a landing diameter of 16, 17, and 18 inches. At the same time, the speed index, depending on the size, can be H or V.
Excellent traction on wet roads
When creating the Nexen CP672a tire, South Korean developers paid a lot of attention to ensuring excellent traction on wet roads. This was done by increasing the number and size of longitudinal drainage channels located in the central part of the tread. As a result, they became capable of accommodating a large amount of water, thereby keeping the contact patch dry. In addition, silica was added to the rubber compound. These silicon-containing components, by giving the tread elasticity, provide its more dense adhesion to the road surface. This allowed for further improvement of traction on wet roads.
Two-module central rib
Excellent directional stability is another characteristic feature of this tire. To a large extent, but not entirely, this is due to the 5-rib design of the tread pattern. However, the rigid central rib has a much greater influence on the directional stability indicators, the two-module design of which provided it with excellent resistance to dynamic deformation. In addition, the presence of a rigid element in this part of the tread significantly reduced the tire's response time to steering wheel turns.
Main features of the Nexen CP672a tire
- excellent traction on wet roads, thanks to high resistance to aquaplaning, which was achieved due to the high performance of the four longitudinal drainage grooves in the central part of the tread;
- the double central rib improved directional stability, while reducing the tire's response time to steering wheel turns;
- the 5-step arrangement of the tread blocks almost eliminated the likelihood of resonant noise and vibration;
- increased stiffness of the shoulder areas of the tread provides excellent stability during sharp maneuvering.
