The Nereus SAILFISH NS601 model got its name not by chance — its tread geometry borrows the principles of hydrodynamics from the swordfish, creating an aggressive drainage network and stabilizing ribs that work in any summer conditions.

Hydrodynamic design

The tread is built on the basis of asymmetry — the outer side is responsible for grip in turns, the inner side — for drainage and straight-line movement. The key element is the slightly curved diagonal semi-grooves that combine with four wide longitudinal channels. This architecture creates a "pump" effect — water under pressure is squeezed out not only to the sides, but also at an angle, which accelerates its evacuation.

Asymmetric pattern

The tire design allows each part of the tread to have its own function:

- outer shoulder – segmented block. This zone works for maximum lateral stiffness when passing turns at high speed;
- central zone – three longitudinal rib structures. They are responsible for directional stability on the track and quick response to steering wheel rotation.

Multi-layer stability

Under the tread, a reinforced carcass structure made of two layers of polyester cord and breaker is hidden. This architecture provides several advantages:

- optimized rolling resistance – fuel economy;
- resistance to pinpoint impacts – the tire is easier to withstand hitting potholes and joints, maintaining its integrity;
- profile stability at high speeds – the carcass does not "inflate", and the contact patch does not narrow.
